THE RECENTLY ADDED

Cane Hill "Cane Hill"

It only takes a Barrier tour to get my attention, and Cane Hill first popped up on a bill with The Plot In You to boot to showcase what the latest generation of nu-metal is doing.
With turntables and everything else we found littering the Ozzfest second stage in the early 2000's, Cane Hill share with us everything they loved about the scene and their interpretation of what it should sound like. The result is actually a surprisingly enjoyable listen with some creative elements making themselves apparent in dribble incriminates, with "French 75" showcasing great feminine vocals that bring light to an otherwise considerable piss track. It's very obvious who their influences are and you can almost pinpoint it with surgeon like precision and I'm surprised they're not on tour with Attila this fall already.
If you were into 3rd Strike and always wondered what they would sound like if they blended with Sworn In - then viola! you've reached a breakthrough. I'm not sure how many followers are still out there for the latter and I don't know if anyone even knows who 3rd Strike is that's still alive. But perhaps that's just who the guys in Cane Hill are targeting. For a fun, predictable album, don't hesitate and give their self-titled a spin.
