Tesseract "Errai"

With Tesseract finally getting their grips around who's in and out of the band, they've generated some interesting momentum with a strong spring release and a series of festival appearances that enabled them to reach out to countless new fans.
This EP however doesn't really add much to the band's catalogue in terms of quality content. The intrigue here is completely gone, and the tracks are just melodic ideas that play off their current sound. It feels almost as if Tesseract have gone acoustic on us. But while there's no punch in any of the tracks, they are beautifully produced pieces of metal, that could add value to a longer, more extended view of the band's approach.
