So who can believe that another DJ slapped a helmet on and just instantly catapulted to fame and started performing in front of millions? It certainly took me a minute to understand this polarizing figure, who, just like Deadmau5, has been headlining countless EDM festivals and playing in front of massive crowds in excess of hundreds of thousands of fans.
What's nice is that Joytime is actually a great listen. Regardless what Marshmello does on his social media profiles, or what he does on stage, the product stands right by his side in confirmation and on its own. Marshmello's brand is infectious and hopefully he can continue his notoriety and sustain interesting releases and eventually step away from his persona just like Zimmerman was able to do with his alter ego, and catapult himself into one of the greatest producers of our time.
