While the band has slowly crept under the radar on many hardcore and metal elitist ranking, Within The Ruins have probably been one of the hardest working bands on the scene since the rise and fall of MySpace. While their efforts on their prior releases was never really one to challenge the efforts of The Black Dahlia Murder, The Faceless or anything else in the deathcore and technical death metal space, Halfway Human finds the group on full assault, ready to step into competitor territory. If you've tried to engage the band in the past and lacked interest, their latest album should rekindle faith and perhaps reignite intrigue to explore the band's packed back catalogue.
