The band's new album charts pop territory the same way Linkin Park embraced the alternative to their founding sound. It's hard to believe that it's the same band that brought the album So Wrong It's Right, but their direction has been clear as day when tracing back through their past few releases. It's most certainly not a rock record, with anyone left to guess what that really means, but there are no rough moments, no pounding anthems, no shrill fills to embrace the aggressive. Instead, it's just big hooks and choruses aimed to grace advertisements and radio stations worldwide that leave little soul behind in their sound. It may be necessary to hear just how far the band has come, but this isn't one for repeated listens the same way That's The Spirit took care of Bring Me The Horizon.
