Jake Clarke/Spur "Split"

After disbanding Superheaven, it's surprising to see Jake Clarke take the solo approach and bang out six tracks that are identical to his efforts in Superheaven. What's that about? The songs aren't as aggressive or depressing, but they certainly have the same hinted theme of morose throughout. The shoegaze rock ala Citizen, Nothing, and Hundredth (new), now loads up Clarke's solo efforts. It's literally material that could've comprised their third record. The Spur material is expendable, falling into Piebald territory with hardly a soul to sell.
