Chelsea Wolfe “Hiss Spun”

For those unfamiliar with the artist, imagine the sounds of demonic hymns leading you through an uncharted wood, during a misty, gloomy early morning fazed out with a lingering fog. Give it a soundtrack with an aggressive low end female vocal chant and you’ll be pointing to Chelsea Wolfe on the map. It’s a true unique brand here, and how the artist often gets mashed with the doom, sludge metal space is often alarming, as this is its own thing altogether. But it’s certainly a record worth spinning to understand the hype, and also understand why Converge slapped her on stage during their “Blood Moon” appearances a few years back.
