Long Island, New York seems to be the new Orange County with Incendiary, King Nine, Separated, Sanction and Heal all either sustaining respect or recently rising to attention. Heal bring to mind mid career Poison The Well, executing the brand of hardcore they practically invented on Tear From The Red. Although the production on that record was very different, Heal bring modern tools into play that sensationalize their long winded strumming, and create a melodic atmosphere that packs a punch when that voice rips through the speakers. Hopefully these guys continue to produce quality tunes and adapt as they mature because it’s clear their vision is relevant to what’s missing in the current hardcore community. Another sensational release not to be overlooked.
