Red Death is a rock band that plays in a punk space, and while the tracks on this release rage with fury, there’s not enough sauce on the plate to keep those hungry enough for aggression to keep nibbling. The songs are uninspired, the recording’s flat and one dimensional, and it’s really nothing any of us haven’t heard before. The fact that it’s getting any acclaim at all is completely surprising. This is just some town’s best local band that strayed super far from home.
