Tried and true, meat and potato hardcore reigns supreme here with plenty of tough guy energy, and effortless groove. While the band doesn’t exactly chart new terrain, they do deliver consistent gym fodder that could help anyone struggling to make it through their workout. Purgatory is competing in a densely populated space, but if they do it well, and do it consistently, there’s a hope they may land a respectable slot one day on a side stage at Hellfest. I’d be willing to bet they’d be stoked even if their font was a size two on the poster, and for an act like this, that’d be quite the accomplishment.
