Bringing to mind the early records of The Red Chord, Defeated Sanity deliver a serious collection of death metal anthems, produced as raw as the intentions of the band. The production on the drums package the record and accentuates the low end of the guitars and gutturals. It’s a standout death metal release that’s worth highlighting and needs to be appreciated as we move forward further along from the release dates of some of the scene’s legacy releases. Cannibal Corpse and Deicide won’t be there to headline those European festivals forever. Here’s to Defeated Sanity being one of the contenders to step up to the plate.
