Very rarely do extreme bands go backwards and slow their approach to a grinding halt to side step with slam and hardcore. Most commonly, it seems like it’s either one or the other: highly technical and overwhelming, or groovy and monotonous. Within Destruction have created a culmination of sounds that highlights the best of technical metal and the finest moments of sludgy hardcore. It’s still an intense listen with hardly any downtime, which makes it almost as impossible to get through as Frontierer’s latest record, but still a necessary listen worth highlighting.
