THE RECENTLY ADDED

Cult Leader “A Patient Man”

At first, the record hits like the heaviest album of the century. It’s almost too good to be true, with album opener pummeling along its “heal me” moment of glory. Somewhere through the first few tracks however, the album goes ultra-doom and practically folks its way along to the second half. It’s an unsettling part of the album that unfortunately drags on longer than the aggressive tendencies of the record, and while it certainly helps develop a varied sound, it’s more of a chore to listen to after the first listen, especially when the beginning of the record slams so hard.
