Memphis May Fire “Broken”

The band has evolved into an extension of the same formula that brought us the modern versions of Atreyu, The Amity Affliction, and Of Mice & Men. This could also fall into the Black Veil Brides or Asking Alexandria space. With Sense’s Fail out there too, there’s just so much of this stuff that’s touring and releasing records for any of it to be memorable. Certainly the embarrassing “Heavy Is The Weight” will never be forgotten by anyone who’s heard it, but there’s nothing on this record that would make me want to return to it. Even the ballads aren’t epic enough to warrant multiple listens. In all fairness, I did listen to this completely twice, two days apart, and still couldn’t pinpoint a pinnacle moment for the record after the opening track.
