After You Are We the band was positioned to catapult to the moon. Instead it feels like the band went flat and delivered another batch of by the book sing alongs with mindless studio trickery that doesn’t take the focus away from the C+ metalcore here. The band had a chance to shift about-face, and shift into a more mature, alternative space, but instead this record plays like a gumbo-like identity crisis, and with most songs >4 minutes, it’s too much to chew through to engage in multiple listens.
