When I first discovered the band, they were sandwiched among indie djent bands and for whatever reason, Northlane felt like it belonged in the aggro crew of Deathcore Essence or Chugcore acts being discovered in blogs in the early 2010’s. Well the act proved to be capable of so much more, but never seemingly abandoned their roots. There’s a streamlined, return-to-form here that’s packed with plenty of bells and whistles that only Northlane can deliver, and the band provides a follow up to what was already an incredibly strong record with another addition to their catalogue that should land high on many of 2019’s year end lists.
