A little hard to get through, like all their past releases, and aside from the technical proficiency and awesome cover, the band just doesn’t write good, strong, captivating songs. This was my first impression, and then I gave it two more spins a few days after and it still felt overwhelming. I remember thinking “what’s going on here? Just parts followed by more unnecessary parts, really.” Some of these songs could’ve been split into two or three tracks to be honest and most of the subtle parts are just all over the place. In 2019, less is definitely more. Maybe an EP would’ve been necessary, but this one is a straight.
