If you’ve been a fan of the band since their inception, you may fall in line with the rest of the mob declaring the record to be so far removed from the rest of their catalogue. There’s a refreshing interpretation of a riff only Type O Negative would have been able to execute, so that’s a wild trick to execute, but otherwise this plays out like everything we’ve ever heard the band do since “Wormwood.”
