A dozen full lengths into their journey, the now legacy metal act deliver another slab of material. It seems like the dudes are evolving into the modern age with djent tendencies in their riffage that play out rather convincingly. Album opener “Dying to Live” is the album highlight, but unfortunately the record peaks here and quickly plummets into mediocrity. It’s unfortunate because when the band delivers those giant Lajon hooks and epic verses they truly feel larger than life and showcase why they’ve been at this for over two decades. An EP this late in the game would probably be the more appropriate format.
