VCTMS “Vol. IV Numb the Ache”

Bless Meredith & Co. for always delivering a fun ride. Everything from the band’s branding, to super trippy production, is always on point. “Hostage” is probably where I’ll sit here and argue with you about how ridiculously talented this group truly is if you’re still not bought in. An aggressive album, with a variety of vocal intensities, neanderthal drums, crispy riff salads and animated songwriting. There’s some cool trip hop mixed in the middle also with “Intoxication” breaking up the massive amounts of heaviness packaged throughout. And YO! what is the deal with “Miserable In Mourning” bringing to mind those early Barrier vibes? A refreshing take on something we’ve all become super familiar with over the last fifteen years.
