The band finally unveil their latest batch of brutal tracks and reach for the stars. It’s clear that ETS is a mixed bag of epic metal and ultra hardcore, so they struggle to find a place between the hc community like Knocked Loose, and the metal landscape alongside scene mega stars such as Killswitch Engage. But somewhere in the middle is where I’ve spent a bulk of my fandom career. A tour with Gojira makes sense and it’s obvious this band will continue to stay relevant as they make an effort to cement themselves in a complicated niche. Packed with solos, brutal chords, breakdowns, “Conquering” is everything you’d want from a superior metal band in a hardcore uniform.
