A superb, melodic djent record we have all heard 1,000 times before. Check Textures’ entire catalogue. Also, Meshuggah called and they want their 2008 “Bleed” rhythm back. Even though it’s a terrific execution, it’s just been revisited time and time again and it makes a record that could be really exciting, so predictable and almost, well, boring. Also, how many more times are we going to see the word “Automata” pop up as a song title/album title. Just search Apple Music and get ready to scroll. Hardly memorable, although beautifully crafted.
