Korn “Requiem”

On the band’s fourteenth album, there is plenty to latch onto and a lot to dismiss, but for those who’ve actually given every album before this a listen, this is some of Korn’s most unified, cohesive effort at executing strong melodies and big songs packed with hooks. “My Confession,” and album opener “Forgotten” are great examples of this. It’s worth noting that even the band’s debut and subsequent releases ALL have cringe worthy moments (“Mary had a little lamb,” anyone?). But for the most part, it’s really songs that sound more like “Trash” that have catapulted the band into consistent arena stardom, and this short just-over-thirty-minute nine song “full length” continues this legacy.
