While the band’s prior full length was a hint at their potential, with noisy grind, blast, and heavy hardcore, Knoll’s follow-up is probably one of the most intense displays of avant-garde aggressive metallic hardcore in recent years. To me, it sounds like what I thought I was listening to when I first heard “Jane Doe” over twenty years ago (with obvious modern elements infused). The wall of noise, the mix and match of the metal mish-mash and the schizophrenic vocal delivery make the Tennessee’s outfit banger one of the best releases of 2022.
