I listened to the JRE episode featuring Dave, where he highlights the fact that more time is spent researching lyrics for Megadeth albums than anything else. If you go into this album with that in mind, there’s no way that comment was made with any consideration. There are no thought-provoking sonnets, or obscure words to define. But there is the “Mission To Mars” example that encapsulates everything that’s humorous about what this record is about (yeah, go listen to it again. That happened). The album highlight? Dead Kennedy’s cover “Police Truck,” where at least the silly lyrics make sense.
