I absolutely love that Igor and Max did this. While Sepultura has had a remarkable career with Derrick Green, those first half dozen releases are bonafide classics in the thrash metal landscape that do not get the spotlight they deserve as Sepultura’s legacy now expands past fifteen albums stacked with bangers. The fact that Max and Igor took CC as an outlet to revisit the catalogue of their youth with Sepultura’s blessing is an absolute beautiful moment in heavy metal history. It doesn’t hurt that both albums revisited are total rippers, delivering high intensity thrash, that’s super polished and refreshing as it is resurrected.
