The legends of alternative funk deliver a Nick Hexum heavy album that doesn’t overstay its welcome and leaves a slab of tracks that are sure to be catalog hits for those who’ve kept up with the band. While the last several records have been a mixed bag of songs that leave much to be desired, albeit still delivering a few choice bangers, their latest offering brings gems like “Friend,” “Days Go By,” and “All You’ve Seen” that provide that signature melody only 311 can churn consistently. While punk and metal genre’s go berserk trying to figure out who can outperform and outdo who, 311 have stayed true to their abilities and remain humble while staying so categorically them in their magnificence on their FOURTEENTH release. This is a band I can honestly say I have been listening to for THIRTY YEARS.
