It’s been two years since the stellar “Hygiene” dropped, and Drug Church deliver another set of standout pop punkish anthems influenced by Polar Bear Club and well… that’s as close of a comparison as I can think of in the music department. What really stands out on their latest album is the lyrical content that seems heavily influenced from time on the road. “Mad Care” is lost in Vallejo, “Yankee Trails” is a tour across the states, and the personal favorite “Hey Listen” about the Antelope Valley Walmart and its wall of missing children, while “Peer Review” is as relatable a track as I’ve read another writer’s poetry as can be ensuring we understand our similarities rather than provoking our differences. It’s another fantastic album by a band that just can’t get enough of the open road and the studio time it takes to be a terrific band.
