Akin to A Different Breed Of Killer meets “Solace” era Ion Dissonance, Underneath smash expectations with their second release of the year. I was almost as excited about this as I was about Glass Casket’s Abacus debut back in 2003 but with only 18 minutes or so of music, I’m still left ravenously hungry. While you won’t find anything about the band’s first 2024 release besides folks crying on Reddit that the band mysteriously yanked the album from the usual streaming services, their latest installment is sure to satisfy those eager fans. This album seems to be a much more refined effort and it’s understandable that the band would want to put their best foot forward, but what would 2003 era Bury Your Dead have to say about this tactic with their endless catalog of re-recordings? And just how much forward thinking metal can one outfit consistently churn out throughout the year? Excited for what’s next.
