Psycho-Frame “Automatic Death Protocol”

The deathcore space has become so saturated with bands trying to outdo each other endlessly, but it always just either sounds monotonous, uninspired, or over produced like some Transformers movie. Are we supposed to be impressed by those effects anymore? But every once in a while there’s a band that dabbles in the tendency with appropriate flare. Psycho-Frame is this strange deathcore experience that is so obviously influenced by the metallic hardcore we’ve come to adore from personal favorites like Vamachara and Serration. It doesn’t hurt that the personnel from those acts infiltrates Psycho-Frame’s product. This EP rules, and I may be a little behind in its coverage, but their recent announcements and news make me excited for their future, even if the new singles don’t come near what they did here. And the snare… The snare! It’s just as rad of a snare that was used in Serration’s “Shrine of Consciousness,” but I don’t know the truth, it may be just me.
