2021’s “The Hubris Of Gods Departed” was a compressed EP that only elevated what wasn’t accomplished on 2018’s sensational “Hell Is Empty.” While their guitar player got a promotion into the ranks of hardcore royals Knocked Loose, the band somehow managed to find time and write and record six new tracks that aim high amidst the busy schdxule. While “The Fury Of Love” is essentially an ode to Converge’s “Plagues,” (which was a little hard to overlook), the George Clarke feature and the elevation of the band’s core song cannot be understated. A refined and aggressive take on a traditional metalcore sound reminiscent of early The Ghost Inside.
