In 2021, I declared Turnstile showcased their profound ability for a hardcore band to deliver over the long haul. And while it may have taken almost four years to showcase the follow up to “Glow On,” the band steadily made their moves in the genre from hardcore halls to headliner amphitheaters, performing side by side with alternative heavyweights, while shifting their lineup and approach away from their prior routines. “Never Enough” is the logical next step for a band that’s morphed drastically from their foundational footing, and while their prior release may have left diehards scratching their heads, their latest displays an appropriate delivery to achieve their current glory and cater to the wide net they’ve cast. Album favorite “Dreaming” takes the band’s sound to new heights while still remaining so arguably “them,” while “I Care” places frontman Brendan Yates in a new, yet well deserved spotlight. If you’re frustrated with a band that’s shifted gears, check out Poison The Well and Eighteen Visions catalogs for reference. You’ll find that over the years, where they landed hardly took a roundtrip from where they initially took off.
