When you see the words Pure Metal you need to think Hackneyed. This collection of songs is so brutal ala As You Drown and classic Cryptopsy that it's almost criminal to overlook it. The songwriting can be a bit silly at times, but the collection of riffs here with the sheer brutality of execution is so masterfully executed that it's worthy of any headbangers attention. Each track keeps ushering in new riffs and more drilling double bass, but alongside the Aztec themed Mediterranean infused melodies, Ihabitants of Carcosa elevates the playing field for newcomers catering to a classic sound.
