Allegaeon "Proponent For Sentience"

While the band is technically proficient and seems to know how to noodle well across their fretboards, it's not clear as to whether or not the songwriting actually amounts to anything interesting. Many play-throughs  posted by the group on their social media shared some real sorcery igniting the interest in the band's latest release.
But when listening to the album without any visuals, songs just go on to no end, the magic on the guitars isn't really there, and it's not anything the majority of the TBDM covered here hasn't already accomplished and crushed with glee. Allegaeon remains one of those bands that may never see the top of the roster unless they find a way to write more interesting songs. Perhaps Richardson who is out there in the field can connect with the band and reignite a much needed flare to drive success.
