THE RECENTLY ADDED

The Royal "Dreamcatchers"

Another one of those August Burns Red acts trying to make a space for themselves in the murky waters of blah blah metal. Everything from the leads, the drums, and even that droning synthesizer in "Spirit Walker" screams decoy, mimic, replica, of everything we've already heard thousands of times from hundreds of bands since Thrill Seeker plopped into the world over a decade ago.
There's so much chatter about saturation and the scene's inability to draw fresh, rewarding talent. But it seems like many of the scene's followers are just kids looking to replicate what they love. Which although is highly admirable, shows passion and devotion, and is truly respected, it doesn't exactly  make for interesting albums burying bands like The Royal from ever really going anywhere with their current trajectory of entertainment.
