Before their most recent tour with The Acacia Strain and Oceano, To The Wind seemed to be an eclectic punisher, with creative jams and grooves that stood out amongst the roster. It seems like the gears have shifted slightly and on their most recent release, To The Wind find themselves as a Counterparts of sorts, with an It Prevails meets Misery Signals sound that falls a little flat for those who were there for Block Out The Sun & Sleep and the releases that surrounded it.
This tried and true breakbeat formula alongside strum chords and yelping is a nice addition to an already robust collection of artists that have beaten the sound to death. It's just disappointing for a band that created Empty Eyes, to fall as short as they did here. I expected the band to catapult from their previous collection, but now we have another mixed bag of under the bridge songs that are unfortunately instantly forgettable.
