Loathe "The Cold Sun"

Highly comparable to what Fell Silent achieved on their album on Sumerian Records almost a decade ago, Loathe drum along in djenty-progressive metalcore giddiness to drive your neighbors mad. The album is a wild blend of modern nu-metal infused breakdown ridden Chugcore-esque monotony and wild vocal ranges that split persona as often as you need gas. But in nearly thirty minutes the band unleash a wrath that's worthy of multiple listens. Even though the first half of the release is obviously much more enticing than the latter, it makes such a compelling case for its contender-ship that Loathe have to be propelled into a league of their own.
