THE RECENTLY ADDED

Less Art "Strangled Light"

It's wonderful to hear Curl Up And Die's frontman back at it, along some scene all-stars. Thrice lends their guitar player and drummer, and the stale as all cabbage Kowloon Walled City's bass player and guitar player round up Mike Minnick's raspy musings. The music sounds like an inspired At The Drive-In with a hint of Thursday and Snapcase lingering about. It's unfortunate CUAD is dead, but Minnick's voice works really well in this resurgence and this approach is very different from his founding moniker and what he was doing with Puig Destroyer (the Pig Destroyer "satire" band). This record deserves a full spin and should get more attention than the latest Thrice reincarnation, and knock La Dispute out of the throne for this type of hardcore. Getting tired of that dude's uninspired and endless rambling storytelling.
