Primitive Man “Caustic”

On their second release, Primitive Man brings tons of baggage in their brand of sludge metal doom. While their first record saw an aggressive metal outfit with promising foundations, it seems as if the band’s latest turn has shifted the group towards a droning atmospheric type of art piece, that lingers in extensive track listing, packed with tracks that range from six to twelve minutes. There’s certainly a ton of force behind their intensity, it’s just very obvious this needs a little editing to bring these songs down to size and have them be more impactful than excessive.
