Backtrack “Bad To My World”

The Long Island favorites claw back to cement themselves as hardcore’s most efficient brand. That part of New York is slowly becoming the new Orange County, with Sanction, Separated, Heal, Incendiary, King Nine and a few select others really standing out in the aggressive counterculture space. The release plays to the band’s strengths. Focusing on succinct, punctual  two step and build up, there’s enough here to start a riot. At only ten songs and barely twenty minutes in length, it’s surprising that the band gets anything accomplished. Backtrack’s jumpy groove, and urgent attack stand out in a sea of competitors, and even though it’s not exactly a novel’s worth of material, there’s plenty to toss the band on top of their competitors.
