Matt Heafy has proven to be one of the most hardworking and punctual members of the metal community, and on his band’s latest installment, the act cements themselves alongside scene heavyweights Arch Enemy and All That Remains. While Trivium has certainly adapted their sound over the years and pulled back most of their youthful aggression, it’s clear that their more approachable mix will appeal to a broader base of legions who will eat up anything that has a hard riff and a vocal melody. It’s unfortunate that the band will eventually turn into a Shinedown or a Seether of sorts to sell stadium seats for the radio rock festivals, but at least it’ll give the band a place to go after countless years sticking it out on the road.
