Cane Hill “Too Far Gone”

Rise Records has certainly spread itself thin over a wide, varied roster throughout the last ten years. On their third release, Cane Hill is here to add the eclectic traces of playful aggression that crosses between Attila and Spite, engaged in Nu Metal resurgence. The production of the record is mint, and it’s obvious this is someone’s wet dream to catapult into the majors. Some of the tracks are really fun and are loaded with great ideas, but many times there’s such foul repetition at play of the same lines over and over again, aside the same riffs and recycled measures, that you’ll find yourself saying “ok, I get it,” while you wait for the next track to kick in. A fun record that’s at least worth one listen to see what 2018 is up to.
