Improvidence “Bastard Born”

The indie metal space has gotten so competitive that it’s almost alarming at how fast bands keep pumping out these top notch EPs for aimless fun. Improvidence blends slam, beatdown and death metal to capture the best elements of the varying genres to capture an entertaining listen. From the Whitechapel tendencies on “Bodies,” to the Nu-Metal gurgle on “Pain,” the EP offers a concoction of angles to filter breakdown monotony. But many times than not, the act finds themselves redeeming themselves, and here’s to hoping this is more than aimless fun for the band and they actually put the work into what they’re able to do. It doesn’t hurt that there’s a huge part of this that’s reminiscent of VA’s ABACABB, whether these young hopefuls know that or not.
