THE RECENTLY ADDED

Traitors “Anger Issues”

The opening intro to the band’s fourth album is an homage to the entire Chugcore promotion community, and early foundational breakdown metal. The record’s off putting production is reminiscent of a time where producers didn’t really understand what their artists were trying to accomplish in the studio and deathcore and beatdown were still imaginary genres people scoffed at. Now, fast forward into the future where deathcore is already looked at as a passing phase, it’s actually baffling that this is the angle the band steered in and how they chose to release a record like this far into their career. The fact that they “retired” for a short stint and then came back is a testament to the band’s commitment, but this one could definitely have used some more post production to truly make a splash with such mundane song writing.
