The exciting resurgence of these artistic metalcore types is making the modern metal space currently captivating. Foreign Hands, Sanction, Vein and even Knocked Loose have helped shape the recent landscape and Tourniquet is another band amongst a long line of excellent acts that are blending the line between what is hardcore and what is metal and what is art sandwiched in between. The key here is the band’s influence which obviously stems from the early Norma Jean/Disembodied days, fuzed with an artistic flare the two bands failed to charter. Unlike their influences, here’s to hoping the band can stay intact, and on track, to really see where this sound can go if given an opportunity to develop. Perhaps a little heavy in the audio sampling department, but for an independent debut, this one is highly inspiring.
