THE RECENTLY ADDED

Hate Eternal “Upon Desolate Sands”

No matter how much time goes by, Eric Rutan will always been associated with Morbid Angel. While his outfit has been dishing out quality records for some time now, his latest collection is another superb effort in pushing intense forward-thinking death metal to a whole new realm, that challenges Morbid Angel’s presence as leaders in this space. Track after track of bone crushing anthems tumble through blast beats galore aside shredding low end riffage. The leads are just right, not overwhelming the songs, showcasing just enough technical prowess. It’s worth noting that this may be a bigger highlight in the metal world than Kingdoms Disdained, which doesn’t say much for the band’s legacy catalogue, but it must feel good for the former guitar player to know his current act reigns over the scene.
