The Browning “Geist”

Still under the impression that their shtick is any good, The Browning deliver their strongest installment to their catalogue. It’s a shame too, because some of the metal here is actually really good. Like the ballad on “Final Breath” that would please an All That Remains crowd properly, and the first half of the album really before the band run out of ideas and rest on their synthesizer to finish out the album as a lingering chore. There seems to be a giant disconnect between the band’s two identities, and while they’ve vastly improved their chops, their approach to be animated falls flat and seems strikingly out of place.
