Cane Hill “Kill The Sun”

For the last five years the band has been dumping annual content, trying to cement their identity. Their latest batch of tracks pushes them further away from anything they’ve ever done, abandoning the aggressive elements of punk and hardcore, and pointing the spotlight at acoustic guitars and melodic harmonies. Much of this is reminiscent of Days Of The New, an all acoustic band, that managed to somehow tour with Metallica at the turn of the century. It’s not brought without merit however, with EP highlight “Acid Rain” delivering some real next level material, blending grunge and alternative elements. The band is looking to expand their reach and this collection should highlight their  ability to do so.
