There hasn’t been a record this packed with alarm clock riffs since Code Orange came out swinging with their resurgence. Highly reminiscent of Nora and the early Ferret Records catalogue, Ithaca bring to mind strong metalcore tendencies like old Poison The Well and Eighteen Visions. “Impulse Crush” is clearly the best thing the band has ever written and they aim to tattoo it on your brain by hammering it out for the majority of the track. Don’t sleep on this if nostalgia is mandatory in your music. We’ve definitely been here before.
