The band leans on their alternative pop sensibilities more than their prior releases and it all feels flat. On the band’s debut and subsequent follow up, the hooks were sandwiched between tracks, making them explosive when delivered. Now it just seems like every track is trying to compete for glory, with too much filler, similar to The Plot In You’s evolution. A little disappointed, not going to lie. I really enjoyed the first few records from these guys.
